-Personal Biography-
NVek was born on Romulas to a wealthy Romulan family. NVeks parents were involved in very different businesses so he was rarely ever with one parent at a time. His father was a great scientist and inventor and his mother, a Romulan military commander. His father was killed in an accident while making a new type of cloaking device. NVek blames the Tal Shiar for this, since they were forcing his father to work long hours. He retained a scientific curiosity from his father, but did not pursue a life of total science. He followed in his mothers footsteps by joining the Romulan Star Empire military. He received high marks in Temporal Mechanics, Ship Design, Engineering Mechanics, and Scientific Reasoning. After the Romulan Academy NVek was posted to many vessels including science vessels, scout ships, warbirds, and experimental vessels of all kinds.
After years of loyal work he finally got command of a small science vessel, the Dem'Ra. His last mission onboard the Dem'Ra was to explore a new system which laid near to the Neutral Zone. Once he surveyed the system and transmitted his findings to Romulas he was given new orders to destroy a small Federation trading vessel. It made no threat to the empire, but the Tal Shiar wanted it destroyed. NVek refused to do this. When the Tal Shiar responded with threats for his career and life he answered them, "I will not let the Tal Shiar kill anymore innocent lifeforms." This rage for the Tal Shiar all rooted back from when his father was killed. The Tal Shiar committee took this into consideration and did not execute NVek, but they demoted him and sent him to a detention colony.
When the Dominion War broke out the Empire needed every officer they could get. NVek was let out of detention and back to active duty. After the war he served on several other vessels until being promoted to the rank of Sub-commander onboard a Romulan Warbird. After his promotion he asked for some time off to rest. Since he had never asked for a vacation he was approved. He went to Romulas. He met a Vulcan man named Ambassador Spock. Spock explained the idea of re-unification to NVek. NVek was intrigued about the notion of a peaceful alliance between their cousins the Vulcans. Ambassador Spock began to train NVek in the Vulcan ways along with a few other new re-unified Romulans.
NVek returned to duty with a new mission, not of the Tal Shiar, but of Ambassador Spock. NVek was carrying a message from Spock to the Federation. It was a sort of status report of Spocks progress. Officials of the Tal Shiar which were re-unified sent the warbird NVek was on to a Federation colony, which laid on the edge of the Neutral Zone. Federation Star ships arrived to stop this attack. This battle ended quickly because NVek gave all schematics of that particular warbird over to the lead ship, the USS Enterprise-E. NVek was interrogated by Starfleet intelligence and other organizations until he was cleared. NVek asked star fleet if it were possible for him to remain in the Federation. Star Fleet command granted him this request and he applied for the academy.
After four years in Star Fleet Academy NVek graduated with high honors in Starship Design, Astro Physics, Warp Theory, and Scientific Reasoning. His instructors at the Academy wrote this note on his service record:
Chief Instructor Dirk McNeil has asked Dr. Les Jordan about his impressions on Elderly Romulan Cadet NVek. After all, NVek is 96 years of age. This man is more than fully experienced. He is more than just a new cadet seeking application. If Starfleet Command and Star Fleet Intelligence says he is OK, then all must be right.
NVek has been taking minor studies with Dr. Les Jordan. This Romulan has been most brilliant in all of his work. Dr. Les Jordan has also learned a lot from him. Being over 40 years and serving with the Romulan Star Empire in most departments. This person will be a huge asset for Star Fleet.
Unless NVeks loyalties change, Dr. Les Jordan and Chief Instructor Dirk McNeil can only recommend him for graduation with much pride and distinction. Well done Cadet.

NVek was transferred to the USS Scoperta as the Assistant Engineering Officer as an Ensign. He quickly moved up the ranks to Lieutenant Commander and got the position of Chief Engineering Officer. NVek has helped the crew of the Scoperta come over many threats such as radiation to warp core explosions. His invention of an Interspacial Field Generator(IFG) has saved the crew on several occasions. NVek feels a great loyalty to his crewmates and to his ship.
On the Scopertas maiden voyage they were sent to the Delta Quadrant through a newly found wormhole. On arrival a superior being with the wormhole was causing problems with the telepathic crewmembers. NVek was not effected until Lieutenant Kavek, a Vulcan, melded with NVek causing NVeks brain to develop telepathic abilities. Lieutenant Kavek activated NVeks dormant Vulcan abilities when he melded with him. NVek now struggles with these growing abilities and with his quest to follow the Vulcan ways. Controlling his emotions is not always easy because of his Romulan origins, but he continues to meditate and study the Vulcan teachings.
