USS Scoperta
Post 11

Avery stood at the top of a landing, staring down the many many many floors
that spiraled down into the bottom floor, perhaps the beginning of the
bowels of the space station. They had been greeted friendly enough and then
allowed to explore on their own, the captain of the vessel was more than
happy to be of assistance and put out an APB to the Security Teams with a
picture of the species they were looking for. It was nice to meet some
friendly people once in awhile.

She had already searched through some of hte quieter shops and lounges,
asking quiet questions, trying not to disturb or worse, Perturb anyone that
may not want to be. Everyone denied seeing anyone that looked remotely
familiar to the foreign face staring at her from the padd.

She was horrible at this, kind of like a dimented game of hide and seek.
She always lost horribly in games on the playground in school, and playing
with her brothers. They used to Pretend they were a tree, standing in front
or behind one and then jump out at her as she walked by not noticing them.
She always lost, was always slow, couldn't keep up. It was funny for them
all to run circles around her. And even though once inawhile they let her
catch them, she was always the next victim, regardless of how well her
hiding spot was.

She sighed, it was depressing thinking about it, but funny now that she
could laugh at it. Avery looked up from her perch, scanning the faces
around her. She concentrated, trying to put some kind of plastic
reconfiguration together.

There was nothing.

She climbed down a few more levels, she had started at the top and was
working her way down, Copeland was checking in the busy areas, asking lots
of questions to lots of people, and the rest of the team had started from
the quarters areas and were making their way up towards the main floor. She
had about 4 more levels to go before she would meet up with them.

She walked around the level, scanning, viewing, concentrating. she picked a
few random people out of the crowd and asked them if they knew the person on
the padd. They all declined. Then she noticed something out of the corner
of her eye. A woman, looking very nervoused. She tilted her head and
started slowly walking towards her.

She tapped her combadge "Commodore, I think i might have something, stand by
please"

Commodore "Understood"

Barlett "Excuse me Ma'am."

No response, she moved closer, the woman was fidgeting with something, she
tilted her head a little more to try and get a better look. She held out
the padd.

Barlet - "Ma'am, have you seen this person ?"

The woman jumped at the sound of her voice, and looked at her, worry and
fear in hre eyes. Then Avery saw what the woman had been fidgeting
with.....A phaser of some kind.

The woman responded with a loud "No!" and before Avery could move she was
hit with a translucent Blue laser beam, she fell backwards from the force
and watched as the woman disappeared into thin air...
