N'Vek and O'Brien sit at a lab table analysing the device.

N'Vek: I am glad the Docking General let us analyze this device he got from the aliens. He was very cooroperative.

O'Brien: *holds a scaning device over a large cylinder device* Hmmm... It appears to be some kind of containment field generator.

N'Vek: It is very strange though it has small micro fractures on it. It must of gone through some stress.

O'Brien: Who would try to sell a deformed generator? What could this thing be?

N'Vek: It strikes a resemblence to a Romulan propulsion device.

O'Brien: How?

N'Vek: Well, the Romulans don't use a matter/anti matter reaction to go to warp. They use a artificial singularity to generate a large amount of power. They use a field generator to stabilize the singularity.

O'Brien: Is it Romulan?

N'Vek: No it puts out a completly different signal.

O'Brien: Hey! Wait just a minute. We could find the aliens by scanning for the signal put out by the generator.

N'Vek: Yes, good job Mr. O'Brien. But we would have to reconfigure the sensors to detect this frequency.

O'Brien gets out a PADD and begins working.

N'Vek: =/\= Mr. O'Brien and I have found a way to track the aliens. Meet us in Main Engineering in five minutes. =/\=
