Introduction

Creating a well-rounded character is a very important process. Your character must have a defined personality. Also characters should have limitations and flaws. No one wants to play with a character that is perfect. This guide will help you outline your character and create a biography. Of course a character will never be immediately defined but as you sim here his/her personality will develop into a strong believable person.

Steps One-Five on Creating a Character in the Star Trek Universe

The Unified Fleet is played inside the Star Trek universe one year after the USS Voyager returned home. And so your character should be played inside that universe.

First:

You should choose your characters race. Choosing the characters race is one of the most important decision you must make. Your characters race determines his/her personality, physical attributes, and many other qualities.

Second:

You should choose your characters gender. This is also a very important decision to make because of the differences between both genders, male and female.

Third:

Your character needs some history to him/her. To make a character more real he/she needs some events to draw from. You need a history for your character so you can write believable reactions to certain situations your character faces.

Example:

If your character were raised in a Bajoran labor camp then he/she would have a great hatred towards the Cardassians. His/her interactions with Cardassians would depend on this history.

Fourth:

You might want to describe your characters appearance so the other players you sim with can picture your character interact with theirs. This is not needed for a good character, but is always good to have.

Fifth:

The characters age should be decided also. Please make the age believable for the species if the character is human dont make him/her 198 years old.
